Octavio is in his 6th year at UBC, and a 4th year Applied Biology in Food and the Environment student in the faculty of Land and Food Systems. He is really interested in food sovereignty and reducing waste strategies. This last point led him to become the Compost Coordinator. He has been working hard with our one year old in-vessel composter, a job that has required participation of the AMS kitchens, the manufacturers and many students from past composting projects that have led us to where we are. I love how this project has brought all these people together to try to improve a developing technology I believe is of great importance for future urban settings.
